MINDFULNESS MEDITATION TEACHER TRAINING

  • you are looking for 1:1 attention to mentor you in service of others you wish to teach, or a structured teacher intensive.

    Becoming a mindfulness teacher is often a selfless, heartfelt work. It is truly an embodied experience to become a practitioner and transfer the knowledge to others. It is not a process to rush. It will take multiple years, dedication to personal practice, and multiple steps in your teaching practice to become the best teacher possible.

    That said, see where you are on your journey so far and set realistic milestones. It can be done.

    I will do my best to understand your readiness at this time, before inviting you to make the financial investment and the time commitment.


Section 1: Consulting and Advising on Your Teaching Path

I offer two choices for those who are on the path of MINDFULNESS and meditation teaching or training. Depending on your situation, current experience and qualifications, one may be a better choice. If you are interested in taking both, while each situation is unique, I typically do not recommend doing them concurrently.


Why should you consider working with me and How will it benefit you?

In addition to being an experienced and seasoned teacher, I have a vast array of teacher and trainer training and certifications under my belt. I work with a variety of populations, with a focus on bringing sensitivity to context, culture and trauma awareness. I mentor, teach and train potential and experienced mindfulness and meditation teachers in academic and non-academic settings. I am seasoned and experienced in leading and giving courses in variety of curriculums. I have created many curriculums of my own, or as result of custom requests. I have been a mindfulness practitioner for over 40 years. My past training students include graduate and post graduate students, doctors, therapists, counselors, psychologists, social workers educators, meditation teachers, yoga teachers, organizational educators and leaders, and others who wish to deepen their own MINDFULNESS practice and educate others in a socially responsible way.

Why you should consider teacher mentoring?

All existing establoished programs have educator training as part of the investment an individual makes to get on this path. There are unique elements to some of the progras, whether in the curriculum or the skillsets. There are also traditional and foundational skills required. This is, in addition to a personal practice you are required and expected to have established.

If you are beginning your own personal journey with mindfulness, please consider taking a course with me or others, before embarking on booming a mindfulness teacher.

Minimum Requirements; You are already quite familiar with mindfulness and have taken it beyond simply being mindful every day, or having read a book or two. You have practiced mindfulness formally for a minimum of two years. You are strongly recommended to have taken a multi-week, mindfulness based, course and have experienced being a participant in a teacher led class. You have a clear understanding of why you want to teach.

  • Our sessions will include but are not limited to:

    • fundamentals of the program you are practicing to teach

    • review of your teaching videos and audios for feedback

    • guiding practices, didactic and Q&A segments of teaching

    • reading assignments offered as needed on aspects of teaching

    • creating safe learning spaces

    • You have an established mindfulness or related practice

    • You are willing to work on the recommendations to improve and refine your teaching

    • You are ethically committed to teaching and practice rightful living

    • You are authentic

    • We respect and value unique styles and belief systems

  • I work with individuals year round as a mentor. You can choose from 5 or 10 working sessions.

    We meet over Zoom.

    On select times of the year, I offer a group mentoring session for up to 8-12 students per cohort.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes long, held weekly.

Section 3: Mindfulness Teacher Training

MINDFULNESS MEDITATION TEACHER TRAINING

Please read prerequisites below before applying.

Learn and refine skills of a Mindfulness meditation teacher in This intensive structured course with others

Group trainings are scheduled throughout the year. Please 1) apply using the same link above to be put on the notification list for the next cohort and 2) submit a 500-word essay, upon request, on your intentions and reasons to wish to participate in this program.

Please note only applications from those who meet the pre-requisites and have substantial mindfulness background will be considered for the teacher training.

If you are at the beginning of your teaching path, a one-time one-on-one consulting session and individual mentoring (see above) are recommended.

    • Online live monthly cohort meetings.

    • Small group practicum assignments.

    • Individual assignments.

    • 1:1 meetings with me for feedback and checkin.

    • There will be reading assignments, including a course textbook.

    • You will be recording video and audio segments of as part of the ongoing learning, practicum and for feedback.

    • Principles of planning and offering an introductory session, will be reviewed as part of course work and feedback.

    • You will be guided in learning and refining foundational mindfulness teaching skills and applying the learnings in a final capstone project of teaching to an audience of your choice.

    • Maximum 12 students per cohort.

  • You will be engaging in approximately 10-15 hours of course work per week, including reading, studies, meetings, research and practicum.

    • Minimum of 2 years personal daily MINDFULNESS practice.

    • Attendance in a minimum of one 5-day or longer silent retreat.

    • Preferably, you will have attended a multi-week mindfulness based course as a participant, prior to starting this course. Exceptions are subject to review.

    • While not a required, preference will be given to those who attended a teacher training.
